The Boao Smart Grid International Forum opened on November 7, 2019. Hainan will build the only provincial smart grid demonstration zone in the country, through the implementation of intelligent power grids and enterprise digitalization, accelerate the promotion of typical engineering projects, comprehensively improve the automation and intelligence level of Hainan power grid, and strengthen the power grid's ability to support the construction of Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port).

The three-day Boao Smart Grid International Forum with the theme of "Smart Grid, Smart Future", representatives of the government, universities, industry institutions, energy companies and other representatives expressed their views and discussed many issues in the field of smart grid.

According to reports, the 110 thousand volt substation in Hainan Boao Lecheng has been completed and put into operation, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the Lecheng smart grid and low-carbon smart energy comprehensive demonstration zone project. During the forum, the smart grid interactive experience center was opened, and the forum guests could learn about the achievements of the smart grid construction of China Southern Power Grid. At the same time, the forum also set up a booth for 21 upstream and downstream energy enterprises to display and share their products.
